Our Mission Statement
Welcome to Pentland by Mrs Ducker Head Teacher
Welcome to Pentland! We are a happy, hard-working school where every child, regardless of age, gender, race or ability, enjoys learning. All of us who work here are passionate about making sure that every child is “…the best I can be!”
I have been head at Pentland for just over seven years, having been in teaching for thirty five years. As a parent myself, I understand how important it is to know that your child is happy and safe. Staff are always available to talk if you should have concerns.
“…to be the best I can be!” is our motto because we expect the best in all aspects of school life. We want children to work hard and play hard. By the time children leave Pentland, we want them to have life-long positive learning skills and to have loved their time in primary school. We also want them to be responsible citizens – and to know that they are accountable for their actions and words. We encourage children to be supportive of each other and to respect the views of all others
To help the children achieve their very best, we work closely with the child and their family. In Early Years, parents are fully involved with their child and we aim to continue this as children move through school. Together, we produce targets to help children work towards their next steps of learning and social development. We encourage children to present their best work to their parents and celebrate their progress. Teachers are available daily if parents should wish to meet with them.
Most of all, we help the children to be proud of their achievements and be proud of their school. Our results last academic year (2018) were fabulous.... we are so very proud of all of our children!
Our last OfSTED was in 2013 - https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/inspection-reports/find-inspection-report/provider/ELS/111642 .
