Safeguarding at Pentland - call 01642 559609 to report concerns

Governors and staff are fully committed to the safeguarding of the welfare of all pupils.

Designated Safeguarding Teachers

Pentland has three teachers who are trained to respond to Safeguarding concerns.  They are:

Mrs Dacombe - Head of School

Mrs Fryett - Assistant Head Teacher

Mrs Featherstone - SENCo

If anyone in school sees or hears of something that puts a child at risk of harm, they will report to one of the above.  They will investigate further.  They will talk with the child and parent to find out their views. As keeping all of our chidlren safe, sometimes referrals to additional agencies may be made.

Home School Support

Pentland has a Home/School Worker who is able to support parents with parenting problems/concerns like fussy eaters, poor sleeping patterns, managing homework routines, and supporting parents who may be dealing with challenging behaviour.   She is

Mrs Emma Nelson

Ring on 01642 559609 to talk to her.  She will treat your concerns in complete confidence (unless a child is at risk of harm) and can often just be a sympathetic ear.

E-Safety is embedded into the school's curriculum.  All staff work very hard to ensure that our children are safe in the world where the internet plays such a huge part.  E-Safety lessons are taught every half term and staff check regularly that children know to tell an adult if they come across anything  that makes them feel unsafe online.
